1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By accessing or using the dnsbl.io service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
The Service is provided by dnsbl.io ("we", "us", or "our") for the purpose of maintaining and distributing DNS-based blacklists (DNSBL) for network security and abuse prevention.
2. SERVICE DESCRIPTION
dnsbl.io provides:
- DNS-based blacklist queries for IPv4 and IPv6 addresses
- REST API for programmatic access
- Abuse reporting mechanisms (email, X-ARF)
- Delist request processing
- Statistical and analytical data
3. ACCEPTABLE USE
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:
- Submit false or misleading abuse reports
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls
- Use the Service to harass or defame any person or entity
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems
- Use automated tools to scrape or harvest data beyond API limits
4. RATE LIMITS AND QUOTAS
Service limitations:
- DNS queries: Unlimited (standard DNS caching applies)
- API queries: 50,000 per day with API key
- Report submissions: 5,000 per day
This service is completely free for all users. API keys are provided to cybersecurity professionals for advanced features. If you require higher limits for large-scale operations, please contact us.
5. DATA ACCURACY AND LIABILITY
The Service provides blacklist data based on reports from various sources. While we make reasonable efforts to verify reports, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO BLOCKED LEGITIMATE TRAFFIC OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION.
6. LISTING AND DELISTING
IP addresses may be listed based on verified abuse reports. Listings are categorized by severity and type of abuse.
Delist requests will be processed if:
- The security issue has been resolved
- Appropriate security measures are implemented
- No recent malicious activity is detected
- Valid ownership of the IP address is verified
We reserve the right to deny delist requests at our discretion. Repeated violations may result in permanent listing.
7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The Service, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by dnsbl.io and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The blacklist data may be used for security purposes but may not be redistributed or sold without permission.
8. TERMINATION
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
9. CHANGES TO TERMS
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
10. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable international laws. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration.
